I'm having a problem with my V reg Freelander 5 door.
The rear door is playing up.
It started this morning, when the door opened perfectly. But on closing the door did not completely shut and the window did not return to the fully up position.
I tried to open the window fully. It fully opened but it now wont shut.
I cannot push the door shut or open it. When I pull the door handle, i can hear a clicking. when i push the down direction on the window switch there is a single beep from the dash. Pressing the up window switch nothing happens and there is no noise from the window mechanism.

I have tried to reset the CCU by dissconnecting the battery for various lengths of time from 5 sec to 10 min. Non have worked.
I have swapped the relay swtches for the window and the rear washer. nothing has happened.

I am not sure if my locking mech. or my window mech is fubar'd. Is there a way to tell?

Any one any ideas..

Thank you for this.. This explains the window part of the issue.

However I cant open the door. as it seems stuck between open and fully shut. As it sometimes does if you havent shut it properly. I can not push it closed the etrxa bit or open it up. Is there a reason for this? Is there an easy open solution?

It might need a sharp push to close it properly or the window rubber at the top is preventing it from shutting due to it separating which is a common failing. Is it possible you may have overidden the central locking by using the key in the back door sometime during your attempts to shut it in which case the lock could be 'locked' in the half open position?

In any event try the key in it and lock/ unlock it. I think holding the key in the lock position for a few seconds could shut the window and revert things to normal although I may be wrong - worth a try though. Lastly, have an assistant climb into the boot and push the window up when you do so from the outside while another helper works the switch on the dash and see if it'll go up then.

had this problem when my daughter was into cycling and bike holder was attached to spare wheel found weight of bikes caused door to drop and hence door would not shut
