Freelander Mk1 windscreen wipers

I just fitted some Bosch Aerotwin wipers to my Freelander Mk 1 but the passenger side doesn't make contact with the windscreen at the end when in the down position due to the curve of the windscreen. Does anyone know what size wiper I should be using here.
The one I have on at the moment is 21". Maybe a smaller wiper would fit better.

So does mine, but not by much. I use AP aero blades, which are very flexible.

19" doesn't hang off the screen as much as a 21" blade would.

Thanks for the replies. The company I got the wipers from are sending me a smaller blade to try hopefully this should work.

Aren't the blades supposed to be as long as the as the clips that hold them? ie there's 3 sets of 2 clips, the blades should be from the inner most clip to the outter most one.

With the ones I use you then trim them to the right length.

If you leave them poking out past the last clip it will not have anything to push it against (the curved) windscreen.

Pretty sure my 2006 MK1 has 21" on the drivers side and 20" on the passenger side.

These are single piece spring steel aero blades GG. Those old multi section blades are so yesterday.

Oh right, more modern and betterer.

Mine clear water fine, do these modern ones stop the water flying in the window if I have it open a bit?

It's a Kiwi thing just replacing the rubbers....... Back in the UK they can afford to change the whole blade with new clips and springs etc. ;-)

Aero blades offer a few advantages over the old fashioned type. They're less likely to mechanically wear out (causing blade judder). They also don't fill will screen wash fluid, which then continues to splash up the screen after wiping has stopped. This also means that driving in freezing temperatures doesn't fill the wiper mechanicals with froze water or screen wash, which stops them bending to the screen contour.
They also don't whistle at motorway speeds, which the old type can.

They are throw away items, which I do twice a year. But at just £6 per pair, doing so is not an expensive proposition.

Twice a year! Christ, I only change mine when they are literally falling to pieces and I can't see anything in the rain.

When you have to have a WOF (MOT) every 6 months - its the testing station that get you to change them!

I prefer to change them regularly as dirt can embed in the blades. This dirt then forms an effective cutting compound which scratches the screen.
