Hi there everyone
Iam Steve and am having problems with my 98 Freelander diesel it seems that i am having a similar thing to what i had a few months back, the AA came out and the engineer removed the battery from the handset, then refitted it and held each button down individually (not simultaneously) for i think it was 40 secs or so,i am not absolutely sure but after this was done the central locking was working ok and i was able to start the engine,i could not start the engine using the key enabling door code method.
cheers.

Steve.

Have a search of the Freelander forum, as I think this has been covered.

Removing the batteries and then pressing the buttons will discharge the capaciters in the handset, little else AFAIK.

Cheers

Blippie
