I have a 1.8 1999 Freelander that needs the heater matrix changed, I have got the new matrix, just need to swap it over, does anybody know what sort of job this is?
I have in the past changed brakes etc and done some servicing.
Thanks for any help.
Regards
Steve

am not sure but i think its a dash out job, which not the most cerebally challenging job is very time consuming. allow yer self a day to do it ..unless some else knows betta

nope - yu are spot on, Slob its a dash removal jobby - I think stealers reckon on 8 hours! - thats about £700 plus parts:eek:

think your scaring ppl there mhm you get about 2.7hours to remove and refit a facia on frelander and about 3.5 to do the matrix :(

i did one for a mate on a montego.... what a twastard of a job.... i i knew it wouldov taken more or less a whole day id have passed on that one. the heatmatix side of its a doddle. is just the dash screws everyware.
if only no more nails were around then.... no more screws:D

Done me matrix today, took 5 hours all in.
The only problem I have at the moment is that the matrix obviously needs bleeding because when you rev the car while stopped you can hear the water gurgling in the matrix, when I filled up the water I made sure that I bled using the little plastic screw on the top hose into the bulkhead to the matrix.
Is there another way to bleed as the water gurgling is a little annoying!!
