Freelander di L series glow plugs

Evening all !
How sensitive is the L series to starting with poor glow plugs ?
Got a feeling my pump timing is moving as morning starts are gradually getting worse with more smoke than usual. I'm also using slightly more fuel too?

In summer I don't need to wait for the plugs - I think they're only needed in winter - so if its getting worse as it gets colder, your plugs could be a problem. They would only affect starting though, if you're getting generally poor performance - then, as you say, maybe the pump, or the injectors, which would also affect starting.

I've found I'm suffering a little loss in performance as the turbo does not hit as much as it used to but still boosts to around 18psi so I'm wondering if the pump timing is moving off gradually as the starting performance is slowly getting worse suppose its trail and error now
