Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone knew how I could hook up my freelander with an AUX cable or better Bluetooth but not an fm transmitter as the quality is sub par for me.

I've been trying to find a female 10 pin to aux cable for the stereo connection to see if that would work but struggling to find something or anything that would get me Bluetooth.

Here's a photo of the connection from the stereo that is currently used for the cd changer.

All the best,

Max

Is this an FL1 with the Becker HU? If so you can use a cheap aux in cable like the link below, and use any Bluetooth adapter with a 3.5mm connector. You just have to take the plug out of the multichanger.

HQRP Audio cable 8-pin ISO to 3.5MM fits Porsche 1999-2002 Becker Traffic Pro, CDR-22, CR-220, CDR-220, Monza https://amzn.eu/d/eULKY8I

Hey thanks for the reply!

I'm not sure if its the Becker HU I have but I've attached a picture of the radio I have :)

Yes. That's the becker unit. The cable I linked goes in the back of the HU. Swap the it for the blue plug that is on the vehicle wiring and take the plug out of the cd changer under the drivers seat. Then activate the AUX function on the HU.

Amazing, thank you for your help. I will order this and try installing next week!!

Just tried getting to the back of the HU but got stuck at getting the centre console cover forward enough to give me enough room to slide the radio out and access the plugs. I loosened the arm chair and handbrake cover so I could move that back a little but it still was just short of enough room with the seats all the back as well.

You'll have to forgive me as it was a good few years ago, but I think I either did it by removing the cup holders in the dash, or reached up behind from the footwell. I defintely didn't take the HU out. I don't recall it being particularly difficult though

IIRC, cup holders on top do have to come out (screws below?) as @kernowsvenski says.
centre console slides back with screws out from rear of it around handbrake, and 1 each side in the front footwells. You have to shimmy the gear lever surround up and out of the way.
Sounds hard, but it is fairly easy to see as you go.

I have the Becker in my F1, and have had it out a couple of times.

No screws under cop holders for mine. I've managed to get it far enough forward where I can slide the radio out 80% but still can't access the back for the plugs. I've put it all back together and accepted my bluetooth FM receiver is the best I'm going to get haha
