Just been trying to buy a bottom ball joint, "wishbone arm"
but when I try and put my details in they all come back as not suitable for this vehicle
are there any variants on this part? mines is a 2005 td4

These are brilliant. 2 Yr guarantee and beautifully finished. I think they are all the same, these cover 2005. FL 1.

I just replace the whole wishbone, as it saves all that messing about grinding and punching out the cold formed rivets.

Yeah got whole new arm, back bush and drive shaft fitted it and the back bolt that hose throw the bush on the arm snapped

Indeed. I did that once!!! Not again.

Absolutely. I've done it twice, once to try it out, the second time out of desperation.

Rivets are made of titanium I think!!!

They're cold formed rivets, which means they are medium carbon steel rods, that are hammered in with a massive press, which forms the heads at the the same time as pressing the components together. The cold forming process work hardens the newly formed rivets, as they heat up and cool again very quickly, making them very hard to drill out, unless you use something like carbide drill but. So grinding and punching the heads off is the only way to do it successfully. Hence I just change the complete arms.
