Hi Again! can anyone confirm for me what is going on.....my manual TD4 makes a loud whine when it gets to 2000 rpm...then again a few hundred rpm later but nice a quiet when at constant speed/revs at 50mph and above. Strangely i can make it do this if we are driving then press the clutch down and blip the accelerator but not when we are stationary! It has been diagnosed by a garage as the front transfer box but why would it do this when the clutch is pressed?
Any help much appreciated as id hate to fork out for a new box and still have the noise!
thanks

Hi, thanks for coming back on this. I will have a look through the service bills but if memory serves me i doubt it! Be nice if it was that straightforward....

It could be related to the Haldex issue. Try pulling the Haldex fuse (rear fuse box), to see if the whine goes away.

Thanks, i may try!. i should maybe have mentioned that we think the noise is coming from the front although i understand noise travels....
