Just wondering if anyone on here can help please. I bought a 56 plate Freelander 2 and am very pleased with it. It has a dvd sat nav reader under the drivers seat with 2006 discs. I bought what I thought was a legitimate 2012 new sat nav discs only to find when installing it that the system froze and will not now do anything. I have taken it to my local Land rover dealer who spent several hours on it then admitted defeat and said they think the opnly cure is to replace and they quoted £1000 for a new one.
Does anyone know if this problem can be cured please. The sat nav reader is a DENSO model 462100-8640.
There are a few on ebay, but they are the wrong model.
Dennis :(

Ok, thanks for that information, that helps, but do you or anyone know where I can get that done please as I am drawing a blank with sat nav repair companies.
Thanks
Dennis

have read a bit about this, not unknown for it to take an inordinate amount of time (maybe 1Hr+), gives the impression of freezing but is really doing stuff.

at the risk of being slated for linking to another forum, Freel2.com has a few threads about this, so might be worth a look.

Thanks Optimus, will give it a go as no luck here so far

I realise this is a very old post but I thought I'd add my bit. I bought some DVDs for my 2007 Fl TD4 before reading this post (Satnavi).

Naturally I was a bit worried but bit the bullet. A message appeared telling me new software would be installed and it would take about 15 minutes. It then went to the usual start screen with 'Navigation' greyed out and chilly fingers gripped me firmly round the throat.

After 9 minutes of anxiety, navigation became available and appears to work perfectly.

Maybe I was just lucky but very pleased with the results for much less than the cash that LR expect you to pay for updated maps.
