Hi the wife has a freelander 2 had it for 5 years and the drivers door won't lock or unlock with the fob.
When you use the fob all the rest of the doors lock and open fine.
I can't hear any movement in the door locking system.
I understand there are two motors one opens it and the other locks it I think.
Maybe a broken wire somewhere?

A diagnostic read is needed to identify the issue.
The door lock actuators do fail, but before pulling the door apart (it's a long and tricky job), you'll want to know exactly what the issue is, and a diagnostic read would tell you.

How did you get on with this as I have the same problem?
The door module is able to measure the current to each lock motor (each lock assembly has 2 motors), and will record an out of spec motor current.
A read of the door modules will normally tell you the issue.
When I first got mine, it was flagging up a lock motor issue for several months, and the door didn't always unlock fully.
However this has now gone away, so presumably the lock motor wasn't used much, as the locking had been set to single entry mode, and probably hardly ever had rear seat passengers. I changed the settings to open all doors with 1 press, and after a while the issue fixed itself, at least for a bit.
