hi can anyone tell why the rear window on my freelander1 wont stay up its becoming a pain.

many thanks

chris

probably just needs reset, theres a procedure on here for that, just search for it. didnt work on mine but after i'd ****ed around with it i discovered that the motor had been replaced and polarity connected wrong, i just swapped + and - over, re set and its worked ever since! minor problem - brace yourself:eek:

recalibration is fairly simple, make sure you have radio code

disconnect battery, wait 10 mins, reconnect battery

tailgate window will lower all the way

turn ignition on, raise window using switch all the way to top

will bleep to confirm calibrated, job done

any ideas how to fix a tailgate window gremlin? fitted after market cables and i think they are maybe either a bit long or a bit short .resulting in the window working sometimes from the switch on the dash ,sometimes the car wont start possibly imobilised ,had a well known garage look at it which cost £40 to work once and get a load of cable ties hidden in the door cavity for the stuff they had cocked up
:-(...

first of all is your window reaching the top if it is not it will just come back down also to not when doing it on the switch if you are rolling it up and stop it will just go back down to the bottom you have to stop it on the downward stroke.
