freelander 1 td4 FB HEATER

You can unplug the electrical connector in the rear wheel arch liner on the face lift model from late 2003 onwards, photo below, wrap it in a bag to protect the connector, and maybe tape over the pump connector.

Just pull fuse 5 iirc. That stops the FBH from running. Why do you want to stop it running? The heater is pants without it running.
Oh and there's no need to shout, especially if you are asking for help. It's rather rude.:confused:
 
Hi Arctic in pic 2 that single thin black wire middle of photo do u know where that goes too mine snapped off
couldn't see where from for the life of me

it just came on for the first time today temp was down to 5 degrees never heard it before so if its a good thing i will leave well enough alone.Thanks for advice and replying to my question.CHEERS.

That is the earth wire it fit between the fuel filter and the case, I had to make a new spade end for mine as it had corroded, I am sure you can purchase them but do not have the code sorry.

Welcome to the Fuel Burning Heater Club, had a similar experience a 'wee while ago' when ours 'kicked in' it was abit of a surprise as I didn't know we had one....put on the straight and narrow after posting a photo of the 'exhaust'. One can never have enough crazy options on ones FL1 and usually find a new one each time I look inside a cubby hole or unexplored area of the car....except maybe the remote controlled version of 'said' FBH?

cheers m8 lot easier with pic's think my connection point has long gone the wire has been floating about for 18 months now
will make some think up and reconnect on next service
