Hi

Clutch has always been bottom of the floor but have noticed that recently it has got worse. Considering changing the master cylinder to see if that makes any difference as when I felt the master cylinder push rod it felt as though it had some oil on it. If I install an OE one will I need to bleed the clutch or is it just a case of clipping it together with the slave and away we go? FYI it's done 200k of which I've done 110k without changing the clutch. No clutch slippage or signs of any other issues.

If the clutch has done 110 000 miles … better to replace it with the slave cylinder.

For the bleeding, get someone experienced with you to do the job. So you know the bleeding was done correctly, and if it’s no better you are good for a clutch change.

I read elsewhere that they were sealed units and didn't need bleeding but also read on here that people have tried to bleed them? I'm guessing it's just a case of give it a go and see what happens...

At 19 years old and 200k on the clock I think it will be time to let it go if the clutch needs changing.
 
To replace the slave you need the gearbox out.
If it were my car I would try bleeding it before replacing anything. New fluid to remove contaminated fluid often sorts the bite point.

What comes out will be black and because it absorbs moisture I will also be compressible.

Yeah I think that sounds like the best bet. I'll get the bits together and give it a whirl...
