Must admit, the opening window is brilliant for dogs, long objects etc.
However, if the tailgate had a frame and an opening window it wouldn't get iced up like last week and unable to open tailgate without risk of breaking glass.

Anyone want to fabricate and sell a frame that removes the window drop to open, icing and leaking seal issues ?!?!

Funny enough, I was thinking of just that. However the form and function of the tailgate does seem to frustrate many of the possibilities. It will give me something to mull over during the winter months ( I am a retired design engineer for Massey Ferguson ) It is always difficult to correct another persons FU than get it right first time, so dont hold your breath.

Most of the time the window is frozen and doesn't drop, and I need to wait the window to warm up to able to close the door ...

Some cars have frameless front windows ... the window need to lower itself so you can open the door.
But in the freelander boot door is another story.

It reminds me of an instance years ago, at a motoring themed dinner. I was sitting with some newspaper correspondants, when one of the guests turned up late at our table.
