Hi all, I have a freelander 1 td4 that's boxing my head in, spent 2 weeks welding it as they rot quicker than thr titanic, been disconnecting the battery every time, end of each day connected battery back up ans starting it and it's been fine, yesterday did thr same and now it won't start juat turns over, all thr lights on the dash flash bisarley, put direct feed to the fuel pump and getting no fuel at the fuel rail, pump woks as I can hear it, but same time it puts thr cooling fans on 💁‍♂️. Iv spent a small fortune on this thing and I'm juat about to turn it into bean cans, has anyone had this before that could shed some light on it, code read and it says anti theft device signal, delivery fuel preasur monitoring and cooling fan circuit, Totley baffled with it.

Hi,

FL1 should not rust if you keep it clean. Where do you have rust ?

Low battery ?

The fuelling is electronicaly controled … I assume the fob is rightly synchronized ?

Did you tried to start with the second key.
Clear the code first, if you disconnect something and try to start you’ll get a code.

Something is disconnected, or you have bad earth.

It has been working fine up untill thr other night wen all this started, we did thr same thing every time we welded it and all other times it's been OK, tried a brand new battery and it still does the same, pic is were it was all rotten, under plastic arch trims, all the plastic arch trims are being removed eventually and undersealed heavily

Iv been told this by couple people, not sure on why it would course this through, I have a video of it but it won't let me upload it
Honestly just try it
I had one not start after i had been run all day
Scanned came back with immobiliser fault
Got spare key brought same fault ! long story it was the fuel pressure sensor
Never happened before and never happened again

Hi,

If it’s the only structural part where you have rust, you can try to fix.

But I don’t like It at all, a large part of metal need to be replaced, a screw driver can easily go throught. The inner part seem to be solid.

Put some rust oil, to stop rust from spreading.

Regards
