When I bought 'our'(my daughters) TD4 HSE the 'Becker' Sat nav worked perfectly and managed to get me through Huddersfield from south eastern side to the M62 without issue. Yes, the 'chick' giving directions got it right...well, until I got onto the A1 just past Dunbar then she tried to tell me to 'leave at the next junction'...FRO....anyway, as with all 'Sat Nav' it's 'user beware'.....I won't be ripping it out to put some other German unit or Japanese for that matter...bad enough to be running a BMW unit under the 'hood'...

I believe the Becker nav is American.

Hi guys. Anyone who saw my last post will know I've just acquired a facelift FL1 HSE.

It has the Becker sat nav fitted (single slot cd - no autochanger). It has been supplied with the original manual and with the navigation cd .... It's not to my taste as we have sat nav already which is a bit more modern so I'm sticking with that.

Question is... Is it worth removing and selling the satnav unit, disc and manual. Does anyone know roughly what it should be worth? Was thinking fleabay would be the best place for it... If its worth anything.

Cheers boys (and girls).
Hi Do you know the part number for the freelander sat nav disc.

As I clear away years of forgotten dreams and many cobwebs,
I`m trying to find out how to ejaculate (sorry had to be done)
the sat nav disc out of the factory fitted Hard -on Karman unit
Oh how I`ve tried and tried but no cant seem to do it.
dont really want to use long nosed pliers, but...
TIA

Many thanks Bounty, I`ll give it a try tomorrow.
I`m sure I can see a disc in there but its lower down..
But will try and see what happens..
Also sorry for not noticing I got reply's,
my life kind of gets in the way..
I wont say my age does as that`s defeatism..lol

Lovely job, I can get the disc in and out simple when you know how, but, although its a 2014 / 2015 years disc, I cant get the head unit to read the disc, but have looked through my owners book (at long last) can get the unit to tell me everything about it but no info comes up after inserting the disc only "Waiting"
for a bus, a train, a pension rise what..
Will try reading the book again tomorrow but with reading glasses..lol
Its me age you know..when ever my Nan or granddad said that I thought It funny, but now I AM that granddad Its not so funny..
hey ho..

I have a feeling the Freelander 1 Beker sat nav updates finished in 2009, so it might not be the correct disk?
Ah, he said. thanking Anydrive..
maybe I have a fake disc, but many thanks anyway.
i`ll dig a bit deeper.
I actually use a XGODY 886 7 inch car/truck/ sat nav screen mounted but sits nicely just over the dash clock resting on top of the dash, its a few years old but is up to date, so, my becker unit is not really used, but as its there, was just wondering how to use / how good it was.

A very nice lady politely tells you where to go on all roads built before 2007, but the on screen directions are extremely limited, no map as such. However, it rarely sends you around in pointless circles out in the sticks like google so often does.

LOL
Thanks..
few years ago, was using my sons satnav and dont know what settings he had it on but was going to a salvage yard near Beccles Norfolk and it sent us on as many tiny almost farm tracks around Norfolk I was getting worried, even the farmers were looking at us as I was driving my now gone much loved shiny black 3 door disco with trailor behind...lol
After collecting my big cruiser scooter i asked what way to the nearest main road, at that point they even looked at us as being "strange" saying turn right out the yard and follow the road signs..
So much quicker way home them main roads ..lol
We took the country diversion going there as a scenic tour...
never spoken of since though..lol

Yup; been in that situation, but no matter how lost I get, which I often do, only sometimes on purpose, the Becker always sends me home on the easiest route. Please post if you do get that disk working, because I've hunted around for a reasonably priced update for a few years now. I did buy a more recent disk off the bidding site, but when it arrived it was for a completely different satnav system, fortunately the seller gave me an instant refund.

As long I dont get nothing "strange" up though.
thanks anyway.

As I dont know if my one is genuine or not, I dont have a "genuine" one to compare too.
I did pop it into my home PC and it does show it has 5 groups of files,
but thats as far as I can go with it.

This is a pic of my western europe 2005 disk, the uk one is in the car and it's dark and wet outside. Just a thought; have you tried a mucic cd in the satnav slot, it should play and may tell you that the thing is actually trying to read the disk?

Thanks anydrive, trying a CD has been on my "to do list" but my brain to hand co-ordination is on a go slow right now (brain remembers while In doors - then it all goes wrong after I put my coat on).. BUT, as I still got that wrong CD in my coat pocket i will add another cd to try . - thanks
I have an old workmate who knows about these things and Insists my NAVTEQ CD is the wrong type (system) for my hippo, more suited to its bigger brothers systems..
I`ll let you know my CD trial outcome..
OK, updated
been out in hat & coat and tried a music CD in the "Sat Nav" slot
and its plays very well, so, It all points to my knowledgeable friend saying my satnav disc is not compatible..
Oh well.
But thanks anyway.
The good news Is I now have a good "Blues" duo in my satnav slot and 6 cd`s in my multi changer.
Always a silver Lining eh

Just too add, if you look at my photo you'll see it is also a NAVTEQ; who knows?
Ah..
left wondering if its a copied disc now.
never mind, maybe one day It`ll work,
or not.
lol
i got other "teething problems" showing now.
rear offside window has gone on strike.
but, my "Sikaflex" stuck on rear / back door handle has started to work opening the rear door.
New "Chinese made" copy i sourced from Germany still in its delivery box until the weather Improves.
And I thought it was only old discoveries had electrical gremlins,
but SHOOSH dont lets disturb the magic electrical genies any more..
