Seen the above Freelander on a w plate. I currently have a 300tdi disco but as I have separated from my wife I am looking for something cheaper to run but still could with a 4x4 for at the farm. Would there be much saving? Insurance is much cheaper.

113 posts and you haven't heard of the freelander 1.8's reputation?

I suggest yu start looking for info on it. Particularly if yu want to reduce running costs .

I don't think you will see much of a fuel saving, I get 31 mpg from my 1.8 Freelander doing longer runs but that figure will drop with more local/town driving. Would imagine you will get similar mpg from your TDi Disco.

I concur, I use a 51 plate 3 door 1.8i which gives around 29-30 mpg on average. Mostly used on daily commute od 26 mile round trip to work with some weekend bundu bashing
