This one will. Have seen a couple converted to front wheel drive, Though those have all used the T series lump, instead of the K series.
The bell housing is different, so people use the Rover gearbox, which doesn't accept the IRD.
Some practical solutions needed, which were encountered yesterday...
Fitted a TD4 intercooler, but the K-series rad sits further forward than the TD4, so now the bumper doesn't fit.
Options are modify the bumper (which may end up looking ****)
Move the radiator back, but would then need the cooling fan pack removed from the engine side of the radiator, and a big fan on the front (which may still be limited by how far forward it all sits
On the R75, the airbox sits where the battery box sits on the Freelander. Another trip round the breakers may be in order to eye up some pipework and some filter boxes. Or, alternatively, a K&N may be the way to go for simplicity...
Other than that, no major hiccups. Engine/gearbox/IRD are all bolted into place. Exhaust has been modified to fit. Wiring is all done Coolant hoses have been sorted.
Still to fit a few bits and pieces, and sort out a turbo pipe from the intercooler to throttle body. Hopefully not too much longer
