Yes all the same. But not all Freelander K series engines have the thermostat in the housing. There was a factory modification that replaced the rear mounted thermostat, with a bypass thermostat plumbed into the radiator pipework. It is located between the engine and radiator. This is the recommended thermostat to use, as it reduces the chance of head gasket failure. When the bypass thermostat is fitted, the original thermostat is replaced by a reducer ring.
