Freelander 02 alarm problem??

Hi all
Occasionally when I get in the car the alarm beeps until the key is inserted, yesterday when I went to get out of the car the alarm beeped until I jnsertin the key, thought it was an odd anomaly, locked the car the red light flashes on the dash. This morning the car is dead no lights or anything... could this be an alarm problem??

Hi, I'm far from an expert but it could be the car battery is on it's way out or has expired ?
Mine beeps once if say I push the key fob by accident when a door/tailgate isn't shut properly.
I'd personally try to recharge or test battery first.
I often leave mine for weeks without use and it doesn't flatten the battery.
If as you say you've no lights or interior lights I'd suspect the battery.
