Do the safe list trick on yer gmail as per the link I posted a few posts up from ere.

And as I said, I'm getting some email notifications, (none are going to spam). .

Whitelisted and not in junk/spam folders.
The odd thing is that this notification came through without a problem.
Ones from the Word Association and Official Joke Thread are not!
The last Joke Thread notification I received was 8 days ago and the last Word Association notification I got was 15 days ago!

Despite @Hippo insisting that it's a whitelist problem I've found summink even odder.

I've turned off absolutely every notification option but I'm still getting emails in the same sporadic fashion as I was with everything turned on.

A second 'it was better before' thing - email alerts used to contain some of the new message and you could decide whether to drop everything and go to the forum or put your feet up and ignore it. Now it just tells you that someone's replied, and none of the message is shown.

So now yer unsubscribbed from all freds, what happens if yer subscribe to a fred and it gets a reply?

I got the same number of emails (two/three a day), and no red bell or envelope. After a day or so I switched them all back on again and it's made no difference to the number of emails or the fact that the bell and envelope usually need a page refresh to activate.
