Think I binned all the windows seals but will have a look.
Do you mean the switch cluster on the steering column?
Rear door is on shims IIRC.

nope - not the switch cluster - that seems to work ok - but wont turn off - I think its the ring thats mounted on the steering column that just spins and isnt fixed to the column.
I realise the rear door is shimmed, but I reckon it will be a lot quicker with someone that has done it before - same as the timing chain and sunroof drains.

I've got the ring. Just taken the complete steering column orf in one piece. Not done disco drains but in the Golf I had I used a Net curtain wire as a cheap but effective drain rod.

acturlee - as I am asking dumb questions - do the disco flip=up sun roofs have drains - or is it only the lecky ones? coz summat is letting in water at the back .

It took me 3 hrs to do mine, using the above and being very careful and methodical.

Tis a fairly straightforward job. Just dont snap the camshaft bolt by over using it to set the timing marks
