Range Rover Classic 300TDi
After a lot of hard work I'm afraid Marvin is going up for sale. It's been a
long journey and after not such a bad winter and not much spare time to
journey out I'd rather let him goto to someone to enjoy rather than just use for the school runs.
Since the build last year and the tussle with the DVLA to finally get Marvin
fully registered as a
Range Rover I have only done a thousand or so miles
ferrying the kids to and from school with the exeption of a few greenlanes
here and there. I would have loved to take him to a pay and play and almost did once or twice at the begining of the year but other things came up.
Heres a list of whats been done to Marvin:
136k 300TDi Engine with new P gasket,
Water Pump, core plugs (inc the one
at the rear) and reconditioned head. Lift pump, glow plugs and belts also
new.
Timing belt replaced at 134k
Discovery chassis, fully treated and repainted with no repairs and waxoyled
inside and out.
24 spline front and rear diffs.
Discovery Alloys with 235 85 16 General Grabber AT2's all very good tread.

Good bits:
Marvins Body is sound, before I used it for the build it had been sent to
bodycraft for any repairs needed by the previous owner. Waxoyled
underneath.
Even though poly bushed the ride is smooth and quiet with no whining from
either diff or the box, high and low work as they should and so does the diff lock.
The injector pump has never been modified so a good MPG is still returned.
The Upper and lower rear doors are in very good condition, a let down on
some range rovers I'm told.
The black paint is very clean not covered in scratches.
Clean Gray cloth interior with armrests all round.
Spare 4 pin diff to use to replace rear flange and propshaft to suit should
you wish to.
Bad bits:
Wheel balance issue at 53-58 no vibration before or after this.
Only the front windows are working on the button, the rears are wired but not connected.
The bonnet has a crackling effect in the paint on the sides.
The sunroof is disconnected as I had the CB mounted there instead but I do have the switch panel still.
Central locking does not work but all doors lock, I have a few spare
solenoids I will include.
I am working on all these bad points while Marvin is for sale so the list
should decrease!
Also included are a few recovery ropes, straps and shackles.
I have the logbook, in my name and fully registered as a
Range Rover. Tax
is till the end of May and the MOT expires September the 14th this year. Last MOT was passed with flying colours.
