It’s not the end of the world I know, but I like things to work. Just noticed they weren’t working. The fuse diagram doesn’t seem to identify which fuse it is, so checked the manual and couldn’t see anything in there. Finally checked a circuit diagram and they are on fuses 21 and 31 in the cabin fuse box. Fuse 21 15A was blown, but fuse 31 10A was ok. Now working. Thought I would post this for anyone doing a search for the same problem in future.

That fuse didnt blow for nothing IMO, once blown it affects other things too like the alarm sounder/BBUS ... didnt it blow again after you replaced it?

No. I wondered if it was linked to my recent immobiliser issues though. I haven’t actually reset the immobiliser since entering the EKA code, so running with no alarm.

You can drive it like that as long as it runs but some troubleshooting is needed why it was blown in the first place, did you drive it much after you replaced the fuse? cos it might not blow right away, it can be some excessive draw on that circuit which would create a voltage drop as to mix up the folding mirror ECU... measure voltage on the fuse against earth in situ (it has that small metal slot exposed for that)

I didn’t drive it at all after replacing the fuse. Just started it up and tried the mirrors. I’ll do that tomorrow and let you know what reading I get.

Normally on a longer run that fuse should blow again
I just went out and tried to get a reading. I don’t know how to do that with a MM. I set it to V with the parallel solid/broken line. But the reading was zero. Black lead in COM, Red in V/
As said before, I’m crap at this stuff.:(

Unfortunately if you are so weak with electrics i can't help much but try to measure with mm set on Vcc on the battery first to be certain that you set it well then with red on the fuse and black on the body

It’s about time I got to grips with auto electrics. I like to be self sufficient and hate to bother other people with my issues unless I’m struggling, which I do with these things. I intend to invest in a decent MM, and learn how to work it. I’ll be back ;)

Or go basic if the fuse blows again unplug something use for the same amount of time if it blows again reconnect and unplug some thing else repeat process until you unplug some thing and the fuse doesn’t blow Then Uve found it you don’t always need a computer

Not the case here cos if you unplug anything else than the folding mirror ECU fed by that fuse the vehicle will not start

New MM arrived today. I went out to take a reading across fuse 21 and getting no reading. I’ve been out in the Disco a few times and the fuse is still ok and mirrors working. Should I be getting a reading across the fuse.?? I’ve done my homework and the MM is set up correctly.

What setting are you using and which plug oles:eek:.
Are you placing probes as SF suggested?

Probes are in the two slots on top of the fuse. It’s on DC voltage but I might need to check the “mode” setting. It’s supposed to auto range.
