There's a fred on the D3 forum where a member found a tracking device fitted to his chassis. They spotted someone leaving the drive way and captured it on cctv.

If you spot someone loitering around yer vehicle or taking interest in it with no reason to do so then yer may want to check it over to see if it's had some sort of tracking device fitted to it. They think the person fitted the tracking device in order to know where the vehicle was so they could nick it.

Link to the fred below for the full details.

If you find one of these tracking devices on your vehicle don't chuck it away or attach it to another vehicle. Give it to the police and report it. Try to handle it as least as possible and put in a bag.

While I'm ere... if yer go to the top right of this forum there's a link you can click on called "Watch Forum". A pop up window will appear. Select "New Threads" and tick Alerts and Email. LZ will then send yer an email every time a new fred is created in this ere Stolen Land Rover section. Yer will also get a pop up alert anorl.

Why would yer do this yer might be wondering? Well it means more peeps will get an instant email and pop up alert to a new fred being created in ere. This will help spread the word when a vehicle is reported stolen and the details posted up. The faster peeps know about it the betterer the chance they may look out for it and spot the stolen vehicle.

Thanks for that @Hippo, I've shared it on FB as it will not only cover us with the green oval, but could also be a good hint to owners of rare or expensive toys.

There is a suggestion on that linked thread the device is a key code reader. Likely, if the vehicle is keyless entry. Anybody know what the device actually is?

Look further down the D3 fred there's a link to it being sold as a tracker online. Post 26 I think.

Interesting thread @Hippo , but also a little scary .

So glad the older stuff can't be nicked in the same way.

Great idea about having the full compliment of keys for the D3/4, so that no new keys can be added. That's a great :p to the sticky fingered sh*ts:)
