Had same problem with Flux and mine was NOT on a classic policy. as it had 10,000mile limit and class 1 business use. I paid in full & policy was less than a month old when Flux cancelled it because I lived in a caravan?? and informed me that there was no refund on the policy.

Only the threat of a major internet forum/facebook name and shame campaign, changed their minds Even then I got less than 75% of the dosh back, by the time they'd taken their cut.

Underwriters are a different kettle of fish;

How do travellers get insurance then? And why are they discriminated against?

Same applies to homeless people living in a vehicle. IN fact under UK law it is an offence to be the registered keeper of a vehicle if you are homeless.

DVLA require that a current UK address be used to register your vehicle. so if you don't have a UK address then you can not be the registered keeper. :confused:

I've used Post Restante addresses in the past, basically you get the V5 sent to a main Postoffice and they will hold it for a month or so If you haven't collected your mail within that time limit, they return to sender.
 
mmmm my policy is coming up, currently with Aviva, but will check with them thoroughly that everything is actually understood and covered before any renewal, tbh I get so pi*** off with ALL insurance companies, as end up swapping every year anyways as they suck you in then crank up the costs at renewal time.
My motorhome insurance has actually gone down for the last 3 years as NCB building against it and just spend a bit of time playing the twunts off against each other. :)

The system is nuts Pikey, whats wrong with living in a motor home or caravan? if its MOT and taxed (need that insurance for that!!) then whats the prob? guess they want a fixed abode in case of parking tickets and speeding fines...:mad:

Yep it sure is. Still feck em.. I've managed to keep one step ahead for the last 5 years.
