I know the Freelander can suffer from a floppy gearstick on the manuals. Anyone have a guide on what to do to fix it?

I can see these items at Muddymods:

And:

But no info on how to fit. There is a link to their facebook page, but the photos on there seem to be of parts that don't match their sales site... ???

Thanks.

I know how to fix the linkage, if you look under the landy, near the gearstick, you will see a fitting with 2 bolts where the new purple bush will fit. The gear shifting mechanism will go through the centre of the bush.

I don't have any pictures, but if you go under the car it should be directly under the shifter.

MuddyMods FB page for floppy linkage solution

The floppy linkage on my 2003 TD4 was because of the bush (which is part of the gear selector) on top of the gearbox. It is not available from Land Rover. It wears badly and that equates to a lot of side to side movement at the lever.

I did the mod and confirm it made a HUGE difference to the positivity of manual gear change lever.

Thanks. I did mention facebook in my opening post. As it makes no sense to me....

Neither the orange nor black bush in the photos there tally up with the items listed being sold... I couldn't see any pictures or mention of the items for sale.
