Hi All.
I have been shovelling CR2032 Litium batteries into my Freelander 1 key fob every two weeks for ages now and I can't seem to get to the bottom of the problem.
When Igot the car the fob went faulty after a few weeks so I took it apart, and there was evidence of WD40 type fluid inside on the circuit board so I took out the battery and squirted it with serious electrical contact cleaner. Proper stuff, (I'm and electronic engineer).
Anyway blew it all out then repeated and blew it out again. This fluid was persistent because a few weeks later I had to repeat the procedure, only this time I ordered one of those third party fob shells from eBay and replaced the old shell. Success for a few months and it started again, so I bought another shell and all was well for a month and now the problem is back again. It's like a wasp that won't go away.
Short of lashing out £70 odd pounds on a full reprogramming kit and oval style fob can anyone help please?
