Flight case components or camper LW ply and trim?

That is the question for a Landy camper.

Seen many DIY fit outs on line, should I use the flight case type aluminium profiles and board or the light weight ply and T type edge trims. I ponder, any recommendations on robustness, ease of assembly or supplier. Difficulty no real issue as ex-joiner so complex woodwork no issue.
 
Anything further on this project? I tried both and went for 12mm ply in the end, with aluminium boxes integrated to provide storage.
 
Anyone know, apart from a tinternet search, the best place to buy fight case materials, was thinking more of a wholesaler than a retailer. The online stores take the pish price wise.

If you don't want to use internet site you'll have to buy local...so where are you...not much use me telling you here in Portugal...lol
 
Hertfordshire. Loads online, just seems hard work with poor websites. Best seems to be Adam Hall, but cant buy unless you're a retail stockist, there dealer search is so poor you cant tell which components are stocked/sold by who.

What materials are you looking for as I'm converting metal trunks into slide out drawers.

I've used Phenolic ply, ie Buffalo board. It's a resin impregnated plywood from 9mm upwards. Nigh on waterproof and in a Landy that's a plus.

I've built 2 removable sections on both sides, 1 houses the sink and cooker with storage and electrics, the other has storage and 2 removable sections to provide seating.I then coated it ( 5 times ) with Speaker paint ( http://www.bluearan.co.uk/index.php?id=TUFFCABPRO5 )

I did put doors on the cupbaords, but in all honesty i found it a faf and picked up Really Useful Box's of the correct sizes and use them for storage inside the cupboard space after removing the doors. It allows you to pack and stack items alot easier i found.


Flight case material is plywood coated with an aluminium sheet but you will pay a premium for it, Swan Flight suppy sheets ( https://www.swanflight.com/hardware/flightcase-hardware-laminates.html )

Just check the Buffalo board is ok to use externally. It’s also heavy.
Look for melamine like they use on lorries & horse trailers.
If the side has gone check the floor;)

If I have the sides and floor to do it’s still worth the meagre investment. I wanted a trailer for heavier and bulky stuff ideally a plant trailer. This came up for lemonade money so should be ok :D
