flashing Manual and Sport mode warning lights

Greeting All:..Have recently bought my First Landrover, a 2001 serries 2. Has full service history, i am indeed very pleased with it. How ever over past few day, when driving both manual and sport mode warning lights flash together.The owners hand book say to seek qualified assistance urgently. May I please ask (a)what is cause and (b) what is required to fix this fault. Thanks in advance, Stanley95.

..yes , sorry for lack of information , a discovery serries 2

...got to be ultimate dummie on my first posting, could not even identify my Discovery correctly...oh well can only get better..

..Having read other posts about same M&S warning lights flashing, mine has not caused any "limp home " Automatic transmission seems to be working just fine When AA did diagnostic check, no faults identified, also showed no stored faults.
