Hi all, my Landy Disco 3 (2009) recently developed a strange problem, the indicators start flashing when the vehicle is started. They remain flashing until the vehicle is switched off. I have checked all wiring and cannot resolve. Please assist if possible. Thank you.

As long as the engine is starting i doubt it has anything to do with the alarm, the hazards have a complex electronic management which is provided by the CJB so this fault is not very common nor easy to troubleshoot unless you are very skilled with electronics. I can't guess what's going on there all i can help is to give you the diagrams(pages 11, 12)

The hazards operation would not be affected by the ignition as they work with ignition off too ... here is something more complicated
Yeah, well, you know me, ignoramus in chief when it comes to electrics. But as they do work when you are driving around, if you wish, could not they just be accidentally put on when the key is inserted and stay on until he switches off? Some short circuit somewhere? (I know commonsense isn't really much help in this modern world of electrickery.) Could he not pull the fuse or relay to the hazards and see if it all stops? I know I'd try that!

Then check the diagrams i posted in my first post and say which fuse or relay would you remove
That's what I'd have to do if I had a D3, but fortunately I haven't! I can do less harm to a D2 and even less to a D1 so that is all I have!!!
(Fancy asking me to check a wiring diagram! All modern ones look like spaghetti to me!!!)
If I didn't have you to joke with, I'd have to look for someone else!

I doubt the horn would, but in an alarm condition the alarm sounder would sound.
When was the last time u tested the vehicles security system?
I had the key replaced last week and this didn't solve the problem, as some suggested elsewhere. I have never tested the security system. How?

IMO if it was from the security system the engine would not start as the alarm and immobiliser on a D3 are in direct relation... though if you want to check the alarm leave a window open, lock with the fob then reach in and wave with your hand.. or leave the door open and lock with the fob cos if it's on factory settings you should hear the misslock audible warning

hi

which model and engine do u have please, auto/ manual , what does the badge on the tailgate say

indeed as mentioned can’t disable / bypass the immobiliser as its incorporated into the interior central fuse box

really need diagnostics otherwise ur just guessing

can be a few other things but best to get the codes read

Any fault codes?
Otherwise you are just shooting in the dark.

Might be worth trying a hard reset.
