FL2 TD4 - When should I next do a cam belt change?

Good morning all.
I bought my FL in Nov 2019 and it had the stamp from the car sales garage that it has had a service and cambelt change and waterpump change, mileage was 117,608.
I had the Haldex oil, filter and rear diff changed in July last year by Bell Engineering.
I have just had the fuel, air and oil filter and oil change at 139,890.

When should I look at getting my cambelt done next? And are there any other things I should look at? (
 
Do the belts next about 2027 or at 217,608 maybe check and change the break pads & discs if they need doing, change the break fluid & power steering fluid and pot, check all the tyre's are the same and wear the same, do you know if the water pump was changed with the belts it should have been. i presume Bell Engineering checked and changed the PTU oil.
 
What?? Not for another 70,000 miles??

The timing belt is due every 150k, or 10 years. Whichever comes first.
The engine oil and oil filter need changing annually or 12,000k miles, although I would do it every 6k miles myself. The fuel and air filter should be changed every 24 months, or @ 24k intervals.
 
10 year service is a big one so that should have been done last year. When I get on my pc next I will send a service schedule. When mine was done it was about £1000 so as I said it’s a big one

It doesn't need to be such an expensive service, if important fluids are done in the preceeding years. ;)
 
Sounds like you did not give it a 10 year service last year?
As you have to take the belt off to change the coolant pump it would be silly not to change the belt too.
I would not bet my engine on the service stamp provided by a secondhand car salesman.

Thank you, both. Interestingly, Bell Engineering said 'no i wouldnt bother as you cant get most of it out'.

Really. That's Bell gone down in my opinion then. Maybe they're hoping to get the PTU replacement work, when it fails. :confused:

It's possible to suck out almost 500ml of oil from the PTU, which is almost all of the 600ml it contains.

Mine was absolutely filthy, and my PTU was replaced 5 years before I bought mine, so I can only imagine that 10 year old oil will be worse.

Actually no, but fiddly.
The filler plug is also the drain plug, which means the oil needs to be sucked out with a syringe fitted with a thin pipe. The pipe needs to be guided down inside the PTU, past the gears, to as low in the bottom as possible, where the oil can be sucked out. I'm sure I managed to get out about 550ml, which I think is ok, and means a good amount of fresh oil can be put back in, as the total capacity is 750ml when dry.
The only other thing to note, is the filler plug, isn't the level plug.
You fill it up to the level plug, then remove 120ml with the syringe, at which point the level will be correct.
The filler/drain plug is tightened to 35Nm.
