Fixing passenger dorr window

The bottom channel has rotted on this, does the whole panel and other channels need to be removed to fix it? the other half is trying to push it on whilst the window is in situ. Thanks for replies.

That's the part. He'll probably work it out one way or another, he usually does!

Although to be honest , I have only ever had to change the glass before for a 2nd hand one which included the channel.

It's part 3 that he's fitting,unfortunately,I think he will have to take off the panel. It's an old Land Rover so it could get messy.

If I was replacing it , I would look at taking the window out and doing it.

Well the glass is out, but it's nigh on impossible to get the rubber and the lift channel thingy onto the edge of the glass. We've tried it just putting the rubber on, then the metal. Then the rubber and metal combined. Anyone got any suggestions? Ta

Maybe try something that will evaporate as a lube , like brake cleaner.

Do you put the rubber on first, or put the rubber inside the metal, then put it on? Do you slide it on, or push it on? The biggest worry is the glass breaking.

use sika flex inplace of the rubber nice bead in the metal Chanel and close wind tight up till tomorrow

Bend the channel open a little and use wd40.

My husband opened the channel slightly and is now fitting the whole thing, ready to trial it. Fingers crossed!

Use some sort of glue to fix it on if it is not a new one. Hard as nails is on mine.
