Platinum 642X on mine. Must have been on there 8 years by now.
Is that thru the BMS website? They don't seem to carry big stock, seemed to be regularly in and out of stock.. try tomorrow etcAnyone recommend somewhere I might get the Hankook as they seem to be out of stock.
Tayna batteries where I got the Varta from want me to box it up and send it back to them for testing, not cheap given the weight and some couriers won't even accept it. So the warranty is not worth anything in reality.
Wow that's a beast of a battery.Platinum 642X on mine. Must have been on there 8 years by now.
So the battery was to all intents and purposes flat when you refitted it. Th battery is fecked. So this morning with my glamorous assistant did the voltage drop test on start.
Before the battery was connected it read 12.57 after four days disconnected. Connected up and neither starter motor or alternator causes the little spark you get when connecting. Something else does but its tiny.
Once connected the volts drop to 12.30 and on start up drops momentarily to 9.4v and then back up to alternator voltage of 14.5v. After that it is sitting at 12.4 v.

My first MF31 lasted 8 years until a duff alternator took it out.Lasted a lot longer than the MF31 did. Twice as long so far and still going.
The Platinum one I put on the Jag was second hand from the tip and that's still going 10 years later.
I’ve got an Oldham 1000cca and it’s be great longest lasting battery iv had. So far most lasted 2to3years this one’s about 4years now n still going well.had the old girl over 12 years now Just know the battery will fk up now
Ones near Manchester, the other is a precious metalOldham and Platinum are the same, I think.
Many are from the same production facility just with different branding.Oldham and Platinum are the same, I think.
I've just checked my posts and I bought my Hancook battery 2 and a half years ago. I've kept it maintained all that time and it used to spin the engine over rapidly, I've noticed in the last few weeks that it's just not turning the engine over as well as it used to. Could this be the alternator? I've had problems with the RR batteries since I bought it. Is it an easy job for an auto electrician to test it in situ?My first MF31 lasted 8 years until a duff alternator took it out.
Yes you will need a much stiffer, sterner, starter that doesn't lag.Could be a lagging sterner also.
After swimming and changing the alt and the starter it spins over like a top. In addition to the mf31-1000.
