hi all
Well after a few years of non troublesome motoring ,the p38 4.0l has decided to play up again .
Only this time it's a mechanical 'problem ' and not an electrical one ! .after shelling
Out for a full service inc iridium plugs as its lpg,I noticed it wasn't running as smooth as before,so put it in for a diag and it is running on 6 pots 4 and 6 down ,still starts and runs but if you try and push it ,it pinks like buggery ,leads coil pack etc all ok ( just my luck ) comp down on 4&6 ,SOO it looks like I have a problem !!!
My dilemma
Engine is 'new'? Duckworth exchange unit , replaced in 2010 ,but only have 10,000 miles on it (wkend shopping & barrelling down motorway visiting parents)
Have the car on drive and contemplating a strip down of offending head ,
With that low mileage 10 k what will I find ?
Best scenario a freaky bad gasket ? A slipped liner ? Or block breached?
Never overheated no oil in water so looks like it's a combustion issue not a jacket one ?
It has a prins lpg system worth more than the scrap value (£240)
But need it out of way ,as have had to get another car .
What would you do !!!
As would only be worth a grand max fixed ,
Cheers
