I'm giving you 1/10 for reading this thread, cos I did use adhesive lined heat shrink  :p Put it over all of the soldered joints including the two battery terminals.

1/10 is way better than I normally score in tests:D
Im made up now there will be a spring in my step all day!

You can also get a product which has a heat shrink cover over a crimp & solder joint, all in one. You crimp the two wires to join and then heat the outer covering which melts the solder and shrinks the outer case.

Can anyone help me on how to wire spots when using a boomslang kit , Lazy me got that and a plug n play spot kit , But just think it will be to much plug and play if it will in fact work . I did wonder if I could use the original redundant plug not used by the Boomslang RH plug for the spots plug n play . Or am I best just wiring the spots from scratch , if so how without to much cutting of the Boomslang .

@Al2O3
I am about to fit one of these and have managed to get the connectors out of the ceramic blocks to fit through the grommet in the bowl, but how did you get the connectors through the yellow plastic shroud so you could fit in in the bowl? I tried stretching the holes but couldn't get them through and was wary of tearing the cover. Any hints most appreciated ;)

That does not sound right! I didn't do that. Busy watching a film, then MOTD  Mrs went for more drink and I checked LZ. ;) Will take more pics for you in the morning :)

Morning @capo
Ok, I'm not sure what you mean. The female connectors, on my boomslang harness, just plugged straight in to the back of the existing connectors on the back of the headlight

Morning @Al2O3
What I mean is how did you get the ceramic connector and yellow plastic shroud inside the bowl to plug into the bulb? I can get the pins out of the block and pass them thru the hole in the bowl to push back into the block but the connectors won't pull thru the yellows shroud so I can put it back on inside the bowl!
Cheers

What Landy are you fitting the harness to? Do you have a yellow rubber shroud over the back of your headlight bowl? Mine is black. I've just taken these pictures

1985 90....
The yellow shroud I refer to is the one around the ceramic block. I don't have a black or yellow shroud on the bowl itself, just a grommeted hole.....
Old connector/dismantled new connector block/connectors pushed thru grommet in bowl/reassembly within bowl.

I guess if you have access to the bowl you can shove the complete connector block through...
Cheers for the help.

Ah, you have a different headlight arrangement to me. :(
Cheers @Al2O3, thought so!
If I can't get the connectors through the shroud I might cut the holes to make them a bit bigger or even cut a hole in the bowl to pull the connector block through; can silicone and tape it closed.
Ho hum....

remove and recrimp new contacts after fitting thru bowl.
That's a way too, ta but I think I would prefer to make the holes in the yellow shroud bigger rather than recrimping as I don't have a good crimping tool.
Have other jobs to do today so this can go on the back burner for now.

Cut the backs of the bowls off. That way bulb replacement is a 30-second job and can be done from the back, instead of having to pull the headlight out the front with all that that entails.

I like that idea and it did cross my mind ;)
Rather than cut round 360 degrees could leave a 'hinge' and a groove for the wires and tape it closed.
Hmmm, no more
pull the headlight out the front with all that that entails
...I don't think the lamps are accessible from inside the engine bay on my Ninety:rolleyes:
I'll look tomorrow.
