Fitting rear shocks to my 110

Which way round do the dished washers go at the lower mounting.....facing away from the rubbers or facing towards them?
I fitted new shocks last Summer. It looked like they should go facing out but both sides were loose after a few months.
So l fitted new mounts this time with the dished washers facing inwards. There's no play but the dished washers touch the dished mountings on the axle (you cannot see the rubber bushes) meaning the rubbers are not doing much!
I've looked online and some pictures show the washers facing out, some facing in.
Which way round is correct?
 
Some shock manufacturers say one way, others the other .. Pro Comp (what I have now) are usually cone facing towards the bush ... )O( ... to allow the rubbers room to flex properly. Don't tighten the Nylock nuts too much, the rubbers and washers should be snugged up, not squashed together tightly.

Yeahh I buggered that on mine and overtightened and now rubbers are cracked. Its annoying as there were sweet fa instructions on how tight to do the nuts onto the rubbers.
 
Same here.

So l fitted them facing out )0( and after a few months there was MOT fail levels of play.
So l fitted new ones like this (0) and it's OK but they touch the fixed axle ones and the rubber is not visible :-(

I've had the best results after removing the top and bottom cups ( what you described as dishes) from the axle. This way there is nothing to inhibit the washers and the nyloc nut can be drawn fully onto the bushes.
Some manufacturers of dampers actually reccommend removing them in some applications.

Originals I took off were (0) so I replaced (0)....

When I bought my new shock absorbers the instructions showed the concave side towards the rubbers so that was what I did. Despite all the talk on Landyzone about how it's best to put the convex side towards the rubber as this allows more articulation. Still OK nearly two and a half years later. You don't need to squash the bushes flat, just tight enough to stop the pin rattling about in the hole and hold things firmly.
