Has any one fitted a set of front seats in the back of a freelander. I've seen it in defenders with an exmoor trim center box.
I would like to fit single seats in the rear matching the fronts. I know I will lose the ability to carry 5 people. But want better comfort and support with a reclining ability.
All thoughts greatly received.

Regards

Matt

Although some of the f1s only had 4 seats anyways, I would I amagine you would have major issues with insurance ect carrying out a mod like this, just with them being so safety critical, and to do with the actual physical fitting of them they may be too high to fit, however anything is possible with extensive time and money.

I was'nt aware some F1's came like this. I will try to find some more info. As for the insurance I wonder how the defenders get around this. May have to ask flux about that.

Thanks

That's great thanks. Will try and find one to have a look at, subframe mounts etc. I wonder if the insurance would see this as a mod or just a seat swop from one FL to another.

Probably a mod, but don't let that put you off.

My MINI has some mods on it, custom split rims, racing suspension, custom respray, custom interior, titanium alloy exhaust, the list goes on. I'm insured with Greenlight, all mods declared all inclusive at 35 with 7yrs NCD for less than £400.

It will take some fabrication to make some subframes up, but that shouldn't be too tricky.

But they came as standard as a 4 door on some models did they not? So surely there must be some in a breakers yard that would be a straight swap. They wouldn't be exactly the same as fronts but would be a lot better than the 5 door

Standard on the early 3dr, no cost option on the 5 dr and the triple seat was standard on the 5dr and a no cost option on the 3 dr.

I work in a vehicle recycling centre. ;) but haven't seen a FL with four seats yet. Next time I have one stripped I'm going to see what would be involved to fit them in the rear.
