Hello,

I'm trying to refit the rear driveshaft on my 2002 Freelander. I have bought a new circlip and fitted it to the driveshaft. When I push the driveshaft in it gets just to the point where the splines lock into each other and then will go no further. If I remove the circlip it goes in all the way. The problem is obviously with the circlip. Is there something I'm doing wrong. How do I sort it out?

Thanks for any help

They can be a little fiddly, just line it up and give it a tap with a soft faced hammer, it will go it.

as said above-shaft has to be dead parallel to diff before it will go in, give your wheel a nudge (the one swung out the way) as this will aid refitting-took me hours of cursing before I meant on wheel/hub a little and it popped in :)
