iam thinking of changing the old fan for a electric one but dont want to pay out for a kenlowe. ive read use a mondeo fans and you need a X-Therm Dual Thermostatic Fan Controller but cant find one. or has anyone got a better idea thanks

my plan is to fit one to both the 300tdi and the 200tdi

tbh mate you dont need one unless your doing alot of heavy towing i run my 300tdi without on just keep the fan in the back for that ''just incase'' cenario just keep them well service and check the condition of your cooling system and you'll be fine.;)

mine never gets above half way on the temp gauge however long it's been running, where as when the fan was fitted it took for ever to get to running temp and then once there would drop back off the scale when you started driving.

Im with Halo - ditch the fan and replace with nowt; just make sure all the parts of your coling system are in good nick.
I did this 12 months ago, the only problem I've had was Saturday just gone when off road one of my cooling hoses split - and that was due to the hose rubbing on the back of the rocker cover.
in case of you were on the 4X4 in forest on Cannock Chase - thanks for the help!!

Get a mondeo fan and wire it up to a switch and turn it on if you need it. That's all i did, don't need a x-eng bling thing !

I used a twin fan set off a Transit. Fits nicely in front of the radiator and intercooler. just wired to a switch so if it sitting in traffic can turn it on.

i have a lil slimline clio one infront of the rad, not in the way of the intercooler, and a switch in the disco

only after loads of offroading on the hottest days in summer was it put on
