I'm planning to give my 1990 110 Defender a refurbish this coming spring & summer, cleaning of all the rust, giving the chassis a paint and fitting new bits and pieces.
I have bought a polybush set (Deflex orange ones I think) to replace all the rubber ones with. I don't have the money to pay someone to fit the whole lot in one go so my plan is to do replace some of them over the period of the warm weather and do as many as I can myself.
I know if you replace the bushes on one side then you have to do the other at the same time but what about front to back?
My plan is to replace the steering damper first, Ive purchased a Britpart supergaz steering damper with yellow polybushes. Then refurbish the panhard rod and replace the rubber with polybushes. At sometime later the front radius arms bushes and then the lower links on the rear.
The front suspension as recently been renewed with new shocks, turrrets and spring seats so the bushes will be new and the rear shocks will only a couple of years old so I won't be replacing them just yet although the rear shock mounts will be in need of replacing as they are getting a bit crusty especially on the drivers side.
