Well the other weekend we took a long drive to family (1.30hrs) doo and the headrests work!! Kids didn't fight twice (get it) on way down Daughter used hers whilst my Son never, but on way home played Sponge Bob Movie from head unit to all three screens and all was peaceful apart from it was sponge bob..... But it was a nice touch that the sound is played via car speakers, think I'm going to like this system!!

Looking at a few mods for green laning.
And waiting of in-depth reviews of all your units.

Finally got round to installing it tonight...wooo hoo.... NOT!!!

As it had worked fine the other day when I sorted out the HK amp, I ripped out the the old head unit (again) and whacked in the new one, plugged everything in, put all the centre console back, put all me tools away then sat there and turned it on ready to set up the nav and yep you guessed it ain't ya? DEAD UNIT!!!! I got 2.0 hippo's duff unit I reckon :(

So waiting to hear back from our friendly Chinese customer services to find out where to send it back to :(

i cant believe it !

dont suppose it has two SD cards in it, as i havent had mine back yet.

there still saying my unit it is being repaired, maybe you got another duff unit ???? :confused::confused::confused:

and the communication with the company is so ****e ! just to let you know :mad:
 
yeah mate...strange but true! worked fine then nowt! just like yours!! couldn't bloody believe it :( just sent them a basic email saying it doesn't work, no sd cards in it but it has got a cd in it but didn't want to complicate it by saying 'it worked ok, now it doesn't' so have told them i want a replacement sent asap.

how you getting on with yours now? have you got the gps sorted yet?

well i still think there worth the dollor.

mines working great ! (touchwood)

sat navs sorted itself out, havent changed the resoultion, it works fine as it is really.

I still love it, picked up 67 channels on the TV the other day :D:D:D

and got all my music videos, films and family guy to watch ! lol :D:D:D
 
great stuff mate :) 67 channels eh, thats pretty much it ain't it? were you sitting by the transmitter when you scan it tho ;)

got to say i'm a bit disappointed but they are cracking units for the money so will just wait fir the new un to turn up! The place they dispatch them from is about 10 miles from me, pity i couldn't just bowl up with it and get it swapped :(
 
Well if it makes you feel any better mine working fine:D but i did load some wood on the roof the other day and went to lower the aerial and snapped it off in stead!

But I live down the road from Rover/Toyota/Landy Parts so will pop along and buy another, bugger, so at the mo my radio dont work!!!! See I'm trying to make you feel better!

But gotta admit it's slightly funny about you getting Hippo's old unit:eek:

Having same prob.
I'm still undecided on what one to go for.
I want one with good sat nav, Bluetooth and able to play from my iPhone.
The Bluetooth is most important as the inside of my van is loud and my headset is crap.
The sat nav I would like to see if you can do a itinerary so you can put a list of places I need to go to
And I don't mind plugin in my iPhone as long as it sounds good.
Looked at the one you said about but I like to play first. So I really don't know what I'll do

Why don't you see if you can land Hippo's old unit after Markys finished with it hahahahaha

The bluetooth may be an issue? All depends of quality of mic, and no way of knowing what it's like until you try it, but you can add (or get someone) to add an external mic like what I've done to mine.

The sat nav do do an itinerary so thats not an issue, you can either add favorites (addresses) or mult destinations its your call.

If your unit supports an ipod then it will work like a dock station.

You've gotta pick a few units that match your needs and price, then you'll end up with a winner........
