Hi,
Just purchased a Full Leather interior for fitting into my 2000 X plated GS Discovery. Interior includes the 3rd Row seats and all trim, but have no instructions or idea where the seat belt moutings go. Any ideas? Pictures of a seven seaters boot would be appreciated if available.

Also, the front seats are fully electric. I have plugged into the loom which was under the original seats, but cannot seem to get the seat operational. (New consul fitted with the appropriate buttons). I have been advised that it may be as easy as plugging in at the main dealer and the computer telling the car it has the seats fitted?? Any ideas if this is true or not.

Any assistance or guidance in this venture would be appreciated...
 
In responce to the electric seats, I whink it may be so as there was another thread about heated front screen, he also had to get the computer changed by the main dealer
 
is this a discovery 1 yeah? i can get a pic for you tonight when mine gets returned to me if you want.
cant help you with the electric seats until i get to the meat and potatoes of the electrical system which wont be long as i'm currently making a consult and data logging system for my discovery.
Hope you dont mind my asking but what did your new interior cost you? been tempted by a retrim for ages now, might just do a swap if its cheaper :)
 
Hi, Its a series 2 disco circa 2000. Seats are all forward facing.

The trim was a real bargain at £700 + Delivery from A1 LandRover Breakers in Bury, Lancashire. 0161 767 7050 (Ask for Paul - Superb contact for parts) The deal included all 7 seats (front electric) all door trims & speakers, and all the rear trim for the conversion, (lower & top panels) and the leather steering wheel, centre consul and hydraulic boot step!!!

Ok, my old man's got a Disco 2 out in Dubai, not sure if its forward facing rear seats though. I'll ask him anyway as mine's a Disco 1.
cheers for the info on the seats mate. think i might have to get me a new interior :D
 
If your looking for a 1/2 leather series 1 interior with the Land Rover badge trim. Check out ebay as there is a full 7 seat interior currently for auction. When I looked last night it was sat at around £100.:)

If you know anyone looking for a full 5 seat grey cloth trim from a circa 00 TD5, Series 2 Discovery then you know who to contact!!!!:eek:
 
I have just bought a 2003 Discovery 2 to replace a 1999 version. The new car has seats 6 and 7 in the back but I need a step by step guide on how to fit them. I just can't work it out! I've only got one of the plastic grommets, where can I get mor and how many do I need?

I can possibly take pics later if needed. The seats in a disco 2 are forward facing. The holes needed to install the seats are all there from factory behind black foam stuck on, but you will need to tap the holes with a 7/8th tap If I remember correctly when I installed mine.

Thanks Dan, Got the holes but which bit does one fit first and where do the spacers go? The main "bracers" fixed to the sides and strongly sprung are impossible to hold down and line op with the holes!
 
Can`t really recall having much trouble with it tbh. I think I just loosely put both bolts in & had someone hold the bracket down with a bar whilst I tightened them down, but I may be talking bollocks as it was quite a few years ago. I`m sure I started with the seats and then worked my way up refitting it all.

When I had to fit two seats in mine, they were missing when I bought it I used two long coach bolts with the heads cut off. I put those in the top holes and then was able to tension the bracket with mole grips and slid the bracket in to them. Just pushed the seat as far as I could then a few taps with a hammer to get it fully home and then put the bottom bolts it. When they were almost tight I took the coach bolts out and fitted the top ones. Only way I could, I made a bracket as per Rave but it didn't work for me. Hope this helps.
 
I took ours out for a while so that more straw bales would fit in the back. Put them back in for running my daughter and her friends to places. Don't remember there being much of a problem.
