It did not come with any protection on it and it has been sat in my friends shed for 5 years so its bound to have a bit. Its only surface rust tho I will sand down on my next day off and wax oil. Its all been a bit of a rush to get it through its mot within ten days.

I have spent every second of my spare time on it. A few of the bits I have done in the last 2 months all fitted myself with a hand here or there, bulk head welded, full respray using 2k, new brakes and discs all round, defender 200 tdi engine upgrade, 3 inch lift kit, new wheel bearings all round, new tyres all round, new rear cross member, new fuel lifter pump and engine service, new heater matrix, new window regulators, new lights, list goes on lol

Don't know about you but I always feel good when you get all these jobs done and your thinking to yourself " now what else can I get done"
Mine is solid underneath but could do with a respray. That will probably be my project for the summer.

Mine Is solid all round now. I sprayed mine on the my drive so its not a professional finish but it ok . Will you use 2k?

What is 2k?
I will be doing mine on the drive. I have a compressor but I have seen some guys on here hand paint them. I'm not too keen on the color of mine.Think I would like to go for a blue. I will need to read up on how to go about it.
Mine gets used as a Defender. This morning I was towing a trailer across muddy fields collecting hay for my donkeys. I also use it in the forest collecting wood and I use it as my drive around here. Plus in the winter we always get snow.
The Defender paintwork has stood up well to scrapes and scratches going through narrow dirt tracks with thick bush on either side. The back door has pitted and I also have some pitting on the drivers door. (LHD)
I have had the back cross member done on mine. I wasn't brave enough to do it myself. I got MIB components to do it.

Is it a Britpart?

I brought in a Britpart before I was educated. It was so thin and cheap that my welder refused to re-install the the tow hitch.

I am gonna get a Presssbrake as soon as I can afford the shipping to The Bahamas.

Ive just taken delivery of a rear x member from Clive at pressbrake what a great piece of kit and a nice price.Just got to work up the enthusiasm to get out in the cold and get on with it now
