Hi all,
I'll keep this brief if I can apologies if not!
I am in the market for a RR. I am going to look into other brands too, but my heart is kind of set on a RR. The first car I've been looking seriously into is a Range Rover Evoque. Due to my budget this would have to be a used one. Let me just say for the record I am well aware of the so called reliability issues and the issue with thefts in certain areas of the UK at the minute causing huge insurance spikes across the UK.
I have read a ton of comments and online posts from owners who have had their vehicles stolen, those who have had nothing but issues with their RR. I get it, I understand completely why people would say AVOID. With all due respect, these things are usually blown way out of proportion, those who have perfectly fine RR's or those who have RR's with minimal issues are far less likely to post negative things on forums and so on. Where I live, theft is not really a concern and is not common. The main concern for me, would be insurance. Having tried a few quotes, it's basically double what my current insurance is, which compared to some quotes I've seen online in other areas and some can't get insured at all, isn't that bad. Although still a blatant rip off of course (until I need it! ha)
I have found a 17 plate RR Evoque TD3 HSE Dynamic with excellent mileage (35k) roughly done about 4/5k per year. It has full dealership service history at the correct intervals. I went to view the car yesterday but the dealership was closed but I still managed to get a look around the car as it sat in the lot. Condition it looks excellent and barely touched on the inside, the physical condition of the exterior was great also. Tyres all looked great and new. No obvious scratches/scuffs or dents etc. I've done a full background check on CarVertical and all is well.
Having never owned a RR, I would like to know what I should be looking out for here, what questions to ask the dealer etc. Anything I should be specifically looking at on the car itself when test driving or viewing?
I am kinda set on a RR but I could be swayed. I love the shape of the Evoque, and whilst I appreciate it may not be everyone's favourite or cup of tea. It's the one that is appealing to me the most at the minute.
Thanks.
