First Real Landrover

Hi there,

Finally got myself a good condition Land Rover Discovery. I purchased my first Disco in April which was a 300tdi for £300. The body and chassis is rotten beyond repair, so I made the plunge and got myself a Series 2 facelift Discovery TD5 this weekend. Its in great condition and runs sweet. I have plans to make it into a bit of an adventure truck for green laning, biking and canoeing. First plan is to find a transfer case with a CDL fitted so it will be better offroad like the old 300tdi, then take it from there with modulars with large tyres and a suspension lift. I'm in the Scottish Borders if anyone wants to give a hand or advice.

Welcome. Love the location. We'll be passing through there in a couple of weeks and really looking forward to it too.
However, much as I hate to rain on your parade, and even though it may be better looking than the real thing ... that's a German knock-off

It's Newcastleton I live in, shame there isn't any green lanes up here! What do you mean German knock off? It's Ex-MOD if that makes a difference
