Hello
I've just become the very proud owner of a series two 2286cc landrover would love any advice you might have. My first job will be to fit seatbelts!!! I'm near Chichester west Sussex, where do I start?

Walk into Halfrauds and buy the tool section....yes......all of it. It won't have half of what you need but it's a good enough place to start for the basics. Throw a selection into corners of your garage and any dense shrubbery within reach of your driveway.

Transfer all available funds to the parts supplier of your choice inc investment funds and pension portfolios.......Many Series owners choose to have their wages paid directly into suppliers bank accounts as it saves time and unnecessary paperwork.

Apply immediately.....if you haven't already done so.... for the necessary permissions to lay a direct pipeline from your nearest oil refinery. Many first-time owners overlook this to their regret as it can be time-consuming, labour intensive and difficult to squeeze in between gearbox swaps.

Remove skin from your knuckles and soak your hands overnight in used engine oil. Use whatever used oil remains to paint your driveway to avoid unsightly patches....this saves much time and effort later......while your at it sprinkle EP90 around the house to acclimatise your loved ones to your new odour....This is especially important if you have dogs who may otherwise mistake you for an incontinant cat and attack.

I assume that you've already undertaken a DoT approved weight-training and flexibility intensive training course to provide yourself enough upper-body strength to steer while wedging one leg between the gear levers to keep rattling levels below recognised sanity threshold levels. Many serious Series owners opt for reconstrutive surgery to realine the left foot at 90 degrees and have their right arm shortened to avoid the inevitable elbow damage although this is not presently available on the NHS.

Finally don't worry about the jealous ramblings of non-Series owners about 'the end of your leisure time'. I myself found that my leisure time has increased dramatically......so long as I count working on my Landy as leisure.

I hope you find this helpful and puts a few fears to rest.

:welcome2: to silly grin motoring :D
