Hey All,

Just wanted to say "Hi" to everyone on the Disco part of the forum. Previously had a Freelander (still have, going to flog it after a few jobs for MOT), Now have moved to a Discovery 2 facelift TD5 Auto. Absolutely love it. Roomy, comfortable, and can shut the 3 dogs in the boot, rather than the boot + back seats folded down.

Honeymoon period now officially over though.... power steering pipe leak (common fault, I am told - wasnt there when I bought it) and, in an uncharecteristic display of showboating, aimed to spring off the running board into the driver's seat. The running board transformed into a pile of rust in the road and I transformed into a heap next to it.

Moral of the story... I should really act my age, or practise such stunts in private before a public display. At least my mate thought it was funny.

Even so, still loving the Disco :D

Take care,

Adie

Ha ha welcome to the club, Ive got a leaky power steering pipe and a side step held up by some strange jaggedy rusty metal as well.
The leak adds to the various drips on my driveway from axles, gearbox, transfer box etc - my driveway will never rust :D
On a positive note it also rust proofs the front half of the chassis, must devise some sort of cunning leak to do the same to the rear half.
Enjoy your Disco, Ive had 8 1/2 mainly pleasurable years in mine - looking forward to many more!

Yes, I am leaving pools of PS fluid all over road also.

If you want an automatic oil leak, I used to have a thing called a Scottoiler on my motorbike to drip oil on my chain at regular intervals.

I am looking forward to driving Disco some distance, so far all I have managed the daily run the park with the three stooges (dogs). Particularly looking forward to holidaying in Norfolk in September with trailer tent. Hope this weather holds that long.

My 96 disco diesel is a freak, 186k on the clock and not a single leak anywhere, honest ! :)
