Finally got myself a disco!

Tweak the pump or boost pin are noticable mods to do for performance.

Doesn't tweeting the pump reduce the life of other parts of he motor? Was thinking of a bigger inter cooler and have heard of a boost pin mod but some people were complaining of it failing!! Was that down to the manufacturer?

I also order two pairs of headlight clips but am looking for a bonnet catch and latch kit as mine pops open over every bump!! Realised I may ask on here if anyone has anything spare or if anyone is breaking a disco so I can line fellow forum members pockets rather than buying new?
 
Fitted the headlamp clips today so they don't droop any more and noticed a spare plug coming from both o/s and n/s headlamp loom, am I right to assume that these would be for spot lights in the original bumper?

Also, I gave the disco its first run out today as the merc sprinter was having brakes fitted. I drove from Manchester to west brim and back fully loaded with tools and she didn't miss a beat. She plodded along nicely at 70mph and the rumble from the tyres was like music to my ears. All I had to do was pull over on the hard shoulder as the wind popped the bonnet due to the catch being worn. Luckily, my new one had been delivered while I was at work so will be fitting that tomorrow. Giving it another good run over to Leeds on Saturday as I'm taking part in Total Warrior.
 
Thanks mate, thought they might of been for them. The truck has 235/70/16 Kingpin Trackers but it doesn't state what psi to run them at!! I am driving to Leeds from Manchester tomorrow and just checking everything over, oil, water, tyre pressure etc..... So does anyone know what would be recommended for a motorway run?

They're the same patter (just not as deeper tread) as the Simexs and similar to Silverstones. They guys in our club generally run them at about 45-50psi. I know it sounds very high, but it's to try and make the tyres 'balloon' so it isn't running on the side lugs. You probably won't want to run them that high as I don't think they're a very expensive tyre (compared to comp tyres) so you probably won't be so worried about wearing out the side lugs. Dad runs his BFGs at 35psi and I run my BFGs at 35psi also. It really depends how much grip you want on the road, leading to how fast they wear out and perform worse off road. Considering you say it'll be all the motorway, I'd go about 35-40 psi (as there's not to much speeding up/slowing down and tight turning under barking (where you'd want the psi a bit lower if you are going to be pedantic!). See what other guys have to say, and on the tyres it should say it's max psi, and considering all that, make your call, but I'd go anywhere between 35-40 psi.

Thanks for this detailed reply, having never had tyres like this I didn't want to go on another longish trip without checking as the offside rear looks abit low compared to the rest. I'll go with 40psi. Although when I drove to Birmingham the other day an loving the rumble of the tyres I don't want to knacker them up so soon which is why I am after a set of wheels with road tyres so I can swap over as the occasion suits.
