i have had a rethink, it was great, no REALLY great! showers were far enough away so we couldnt hear them and they were "nice and warm" (little kimberlys words!)

sod paying for a bar next time (even though they did bring extra beer!) and put a big sign around where that yellow 110 shouldnt drive :crazy_driver:

regardless see you next time, dont care where or when :D

next time we will have a Freelander on standby right next to the hole matey :)

A great weekend. Well done to all those who organised it. Great "scratchy" laning on Saturday. Used to paying £3.60 for a pint of real ale around here so didn't mind £3. Could probably have charged £30 per vehicle for the three nights camping.
Apart from the Wurzels and a few others the Disco seemed to be playing a selection from my record collection...great.
Toilets and showers OK but would have been better with more than one cubicle in gents. Suggest an auction of donated items next year...as well as a raffle to include the cakes. Looking forward to the next one

The gents toilet stayed pristine considering

Think its fair to say we were flying by the seat of our pants on organising this one.....and fully accept the pointers that have been discussed for improvements.

I think certain things went a bit off piste which we really couldn't have anticipated.

I think there were some major outlays that was paid by the owners which people just haven't appreciated and which weren't recouped by the amount of people who attended .....which was a damn shame.

Catering wise was a sheer stab in the dark as to amount...again, the food all cost up front and all the stuff not sold added to the financial costs of the owners. ..so imo..better to run a bit short than burden them with more bills.

The idea being touted around about having split venues north and south each year is just not feasible......apart from the fact that out of 42 enquiries, Stanford Hall were the only ones to agree to host us, we would need to have double the arrangements to make...two lots of marquee, two lots of food suppliers, two lots of etc etc.

Have to say that although it wasn't exactly a restful weekend I really enjoyed myself. .....also think that although a few of us coordinated the arrangements , it'd be great if more people could be involved next time.

I can't reiterate enough how grateful I am to accy and roy for the money they spent on this weekend and I think theyre amazing to consider doing so again next year.

We had some fantastic donations inc the weekend hire of one of the generators, optima redtop, single malt and food for hundreds and of course the solar sound roadshow :)
Not to mention everything Accy and Roy poured in.
All the sponsers were asked but Flux was the only one to come through so we didn't really have enough for anything beyond the raffle.

Beasty it would seem the event was enjoyed by one and all, I think for a first time the feedback is great :D

So do I, it was a great team effort with almost everything coming from LZ members :)

For myself I feel more and better organised 'workshops' would've added something, and of course more people

Fantastic weekend and cheap as chips camping too...big thank you to every one who organised it, with a great days laning on Saturday...cheap food..disco played good selection...clean toilets what more could you ask for and great to put faces to names and meet new peeps and can't wait for the next one.

I think two a year is pushing it a bit :D

tbh, I'd be surprised if one a year is feasible.

How long did this one take to plan?

About 4 months

that's a lot of cups of tea :D

sounds like a fair amount of work for every year.. it might get quicker or it might take longer as more peeps join.

i'd be tempted to pikey it a bit. so maybe skip eventbrite if it cost 1.35 per ticket sold. Hit 100 people and that fee adds up to a nice amount of bbq food.

get people to byob

see if you can get a north and south event site and alternate every 2 years.

well done for this years. wish i could have made it

Bloody hell im not suggesting two a year

Im talking about having a once every two year split btw north and south...... I just think its way too much work and also you lose the element of bargaining the price down for repeat yearly business too.

Plus...like I said.....contacted 42 sites as far north as derby , doncaster and wales and got no joy...good luck to anyone else I say.

Have to say I actually don't think the location could be bettered imo...one member travelled from the lake district in v8
If it's something you value then you plan and save and attend. If you can't be arsed and you don't value it you won't even attend if it was 20 miles away
